Meet Sharan, the Storyteller!
My name is Sharan, and I am the writer and creator behind Little Quiet Mind. My greatest achievement and inspiration is my son, Taj. Here is a picture of the two of us that was taken last August. We were at a concert, and I was still talking while we took this picture! It's a bit silly, but it reminds me of a wonderful evening we shared together.
Fun Facts About Me:
- Although I am soon to be 53 years of age, I am still very much young at heart when it comes to my choice of literature!
- My favourite author of all time is Roald Dahl; I adore his children's and adult literature. My favourite story of his is Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
- I also love Richard Scarry books, especially the illustrations. My favourite story of his is "What Do People Do All Day?"
- As a child, one of my favorite pastimes was reading The Berenstain Bears collection of stories. My most loved story in this collection is "New Baby".
- I love the Mr. Men series (my favourite characters are Mr.Happy and Mr. Messy), Meg and Mog, Miffy, works by Enid Blyton, and so many more authors and stories which I will share as LQM evolves.
Why Did I Start Little Quiet Mind Stories?
Writing has always been a favourite pastime of mine. I have always wanted to share stories with others, but life has always kept me busy. This year, I decided that I had to find a bit of free time in my day to start a children's story blog, so here I am!
I came up with the name Little Quiet Mind because to me, the whole world stops when I read a story. My mind quietens, and all I hear are the words on the page, and all I feel is the emotions of the characters, and my imagination runs wild, creating imagery in my head. My mind gets quiet, hence the name Little Quiet Mind.
All LQM Stories are original stories penned by me, except for the Reimagined Classics. The Reimagined Classics have been rewritten by me and are modern adaptations of classic tales.I am a team of one, so I need a little help with the illustrations. Although I am imaginative, my drawing skills are not so great! I have to use the help of AI to generate illustrations. I wish I had artists to help me, maybe one day. In the interim, I write the stories and get a little bit of digital help to create illustrations to match my stories.
