Winnie loved honey more than anything. Every morning, he dreamed of golden, sticky sweetness to fill his tummy.

This morning was no different.

As usual, Winnie had woken up hungry. “Oh, bother,” he said, patting his rounded belly. “It’s time to enter the woods.

I hope there’s still honey for breakfast.”

Winnie picked up his honey pot, then called Piglet to join him.

Together, they gleefully pranced through the Hundred Acre Wood.

As they got deeper and deeper into the woods, Winnie noticed that the trees and flowers were gone.

In their place, yellow machines moved about, and workers busily constructed tall buildings that nearly reached the clouds.

Winnie scratched his head. “This is most peculiar.

Where have the trees gone? Where are the bees?”

Piglet scratched his head too, looking worried and confused. “Oh, Winnie,” Piglet squeaked, “I can’t find any flowers for the bees!”

“No flowers means no bees,” said Winnie, “and no bees means… no honey!”

They visited Eeyore and found his thistle patch replaced by a parking lot.

Tigger bounced over and landed on the pavement with a loud thud, looking surprised.

“Where did all the woods go?” Tigger asked.

Winnie and friends saw that their homes were being replaced by houses, big buildings, and malls.

Hundred Acre Wood was vanishing.

“Without the woods, the bees have nowhere to live,” Owl explained. “No bees, no honey.”

Winnie’s heart sank as he looked at a giant hole where his favorite tree used to stand.

Piglet held his hand, feeling just as sad.  “What can we do?” Winnie wondered aloud.
Piglet had an idea. “Let’s plant new flowers!”

Off they went to work! Winnie and his many animal friends collected seeds from around the woods and planted them everywhere—under trees, beside houses, and near the new buildings.

Soon, small green sprouts began to grow all around them, thanks to their joint effort!

One sunny afternoon, a few weeks later, Winnie spotted lots of bees buzzing among the new flowers.

‘Look, Piglet! The bees are back!’

Everyone cheered, knowing their hard work had made a difference.

The Hundred Acre Wood was becoming green again, and the bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds started to return home.

Winnie and his friends had managed to restore nature.

Winnie smiled as happy bees danced around his honey pot.

"Maybe if everyone plants a flower, the bees will always have a place to call home," he said.

Winnie and his friends knew that they couldn’t stop the buildings, but they could keep planting seeds everywhere to bring hope back to the Hundred Acre Wood.

And that's exactly what they continued to do.
