✨๐ŸŒˆ Perfect for Ages 3–8, 5-minute story ๐Ÿงธ๐Ÿ›️๐ŸŒ™

Leslie was a hamster who lived in a pet shop. He had the fluffiest of fluffiest white fur you could ever imagine.

His fur was so big and poofy that it covered his tiny eyes and hung over his ginger body like a giant ball of candy floss.

One could say that every day for Leslie was a bad hair day!

Unlike Leslie, the other hamsters in the glass enclosure were well-groomed, with neat brownish-white fur that fitted them like tailored jackets.

The days in the pet shop felt long.

To pass the time, Leslie went about his day, scurrying and swooshing, not bothered by his mop of hair that blinded him.

The pet shop was popular and had many visitors, especially children who stopped by after school. The hamster home was always the main attraction, and everyone got excited when they looked inside.

“Look! They are so cute,” many exclaimed, pointing at the other hamsters.
Leslie was different. No one really noticed him.

When they did, they would say, “Look at that one. He looks so scruffy.”

“Who would want him?”

“He’s ugly!”

Leslie wasn’t proud or overly concerned about his looks, but the harsh words left him feeling alone in his big glass house. Even though he liked his oddity, he longed to break free. He wondered if anyone would notice him and take him home.

But things were about to change for Leslie.

One afternoon, the bell above the pet shop door jingled, and Max walked in.
Like Leslie, every day was a bad hair day!  Max had a wild mop of ginger hair that flopped messily over his eyes.

Max walked past the fish tanks and then moved on to the reptile cages.

Suddenly, he stopped in front of Leslie’s glass home.
He blew a big puff of air to clear the hair from his eyes.

At that moment, Leslie saw Max and halted all scurrying!

They looked at each other through the glass, as if in a mirror.

Two super cute fluff balls, one human, one hamster!

In that moment, they both shared the same thought, I look like him, and he looks like me.
Max was ecstatic with joy, as was Leslie, in his own hamster way.

“Mum!” Max called out from across the pet store.

“I want this one, the fluffy one! It has to be him!”

The shopkeeper looked surprised and asked Max, “Are you sure you want Leslie? He’s a bit…”

Before he could finish, Max interrupted, “He’s perfect.
He’s so cool. He’s mine!”

Leslie had finally found a real home and a true friend who liked him just the way he was.

Fluffy, messy, 24/7 bad hair and super cool, just like Max!
